These people are dirtbags. That guy should NOT be a pastor. Who does that to a dead person? That is so rude. They're not sending out the best message by telling them that God hates them. I'm not really sure what kind of point they were trying to get across there. They are a disgusting group of people who's church should be shut down.
And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin....."
If God is Love and in Exodus 34:6,7a the Bible tells us that God is patient, good, true, and merciful and forgiving, why should Christians think that God in any way could or would hate anybody or -thing. If God lovingly sent His own Son to die to a SINFUL world, why would God not love the sinful country of America? (simple logic, yes?.....and you wonder why so many people stay out of the Church?!) On the political and social side of things, I think it is an invasion of privacy at a sacred and emotional event to have an offensive event like that. However, the Phelps should be allowed to state their beliefs, just not at certain events to show respect.
God doesn't hate anyone . It's people that hate people , they just use God to defend them and scare the people . Yes , I do agree that they have a freedom of speech , but hey , you got to draw the line somewhere . Who would show up to someone's funeral with this mess . It's highly inappropriate , and very rude . In my eyes , I could care less about someone's sexuality , but that doesn't give others the right to go around and blame pointless stuff like this on them . It's narrow minded people like this that give people the wrong influence on things . I say that they need to go chill out somewhere because nobody is trying to hear all this mess .
People like this make me laugh and cry at the same time. God does not hate the sinner really, he hates the sin. Morally these people should not do this but they do have the right even if they are being extra radical. Also half the peoples funerals there going to are not even gay! Protest on the net or something do not disrespect a solider and there family. Gods hates them more than any homosexual
This angered me, I personally know a lot of people who are in the military and I think this was a totally insensitve thing to do. Granted, they do have freedom of speech but to protest outside of a soliders funeral ( or anyone for that matter), I mean come on... It was completely disrespectful and the man was not even gay, but I do not think they should have done it even if he was. It's completly wrong for some one to do that at someones funeral... They also should not have put God on there at all, if God hated people, then he would not be a God of love, some people are just arrogant, jerks!
I'd just like to say that I'm very thankful that these people aren't Seventh-day Adventists.
Well, that's not all I want to say. hahah
I believe that funerals should be very serous, respectful times for the family and friends of a deceased person. It is a very insensitive and rude way for people to act.
The Bible very clearly says that God is LOVE. God does not hate anyone. Everyone knows that God so loved the world that He sent His only Son to save it. I know none of us have kids yet, but would you send your child to die for someone you hated? Probably not.
Yes, the people have freedom of speech and religion. But they also took away the happiness and dignity of that family. And for what reason? To protest gays? The guy wasn't even gay. Plus, he's dead. He doesn't care anymore. It's the FAMILY who is hurt by the protest.
I really believe that this church and family is pretty messed up. I can't say that they don't deserve to be a church, because they probably really believe in what they're doing. But I agree with Jalen. Go post stuff on the Internet, don't force people to listen to you. And don't go offend a random family. Especially one who just lost a family member
Obviously what the people did was wrong. That's really all I can say about how I feel. They probably did violate the law though, because George W Bush put up an Act of respect for our fallen heros, to where you have to be 300 feet away, and there can be no protest 60 minutes before and 60 minutes after the funeral. So, there might be some playing ground the family of the fallen hero may have. Either way, this isn't the first time they protested something. They aren't a real church that is affiliated with Baptists. Their family has the support of nearly a hundred. They hate America. AND the mans wife looks diranged. They are the most hated family in America by accounts from CNN, I believe. They aren't welcomed, and it's time to get some justice, because freedom of speech only works when the words don't down the pursuit of happiness. It's not just this family, but gays, Jewish, AIDs victims, and fallen war heroes. It's time for them to taste punishmen, and not recieve $200,000 from it like last time.
This is just wrong. I understand if they dont like gay people, but they really got out of control now, and seriously?? telling them that God hates them?? I dont see how that is going to change or fix anything.
Now days people are really getting out of control! example: these crazy people!!! This man is a leader in their church and claims to be a christain, if he is he knows that God hates the sin, but he LOVES THE SINNER!!! and while he is discouraging these people, he is insulting every other person that claims to be a christain, by all this nonsense. He needs to calm himself down or as Desmond would say, "Fall Back!"
