Whats happening in Egypt

Its hard to find one video that summarizes what is happening over there well. Instead searched CNN videos of Egyptian protests. SORT BY CNN VIDEOS! The correct link wont copy for some reason so please sort by video. Watch as many as you want... but please watch more than 2 or three.

The further back you go in the videos the further back you go in time. Protest coverage starts around page 16, so start there. That means there are literally hours and hours of videos to watch. Just get a sense of what is going on and what people are saying about it. Its crazy!

  1. I thought this video did the best to show the violence [It shows blood, cars hitting people, and a fire truck completely plowing someone dead... Well, I think he's dead]:

But, what is going on? It seems that Murburak was a dictator but the Egyptian people wanted what America has... a democracy. They were promised freedom that they didn't get.

Now that the dictator stepped down, why is the fighting still going on?

Another thing I was thinking about is peoples' opinions that we shouldn't have been able to tell our allie that we wanted their dictator to step down. What was our interest? To build our economy back up from the drop it took from Egypt protests, did we really have the people in mind, or did we just want good publicity for our country and our leader so that Ameria, too, doesn't become protestant against its leaders? Hmm. So much thinking.

  2. So for some reason my computer wasn't letting me watch the videos under CNN Video, but I was able to find some that did work on all the results.

I have to admit that I'm not very up-to-date on what's happening. I can obviously tell though, by the videos, that the people there are very upset. I watched one where a reporter was completely surrounded by people just wanting to vent their feelings and tell someone what they were feeling.

I also watched one video on technology and how the Internet has pretty much been shut off and cell phones aren't working. I guess the government is trying to stop people from voicing their opinions. I thought that was kind of interesting.

    Yeah, this isn't very insightful.

  3. Well , I here about this everyday when I go home. I asked my brother about what was happening and he told me that there internet connection got shut off because President Hosni Mubarak suspected that civilians were using twitter and facebook to coordinate protest against him. They were protesting against to protest poverty, rampant unemployment, and government corruption.

People began riots in the streets from throwing fireballs to rocks. People have been arrested, beaten, and injured badly.

  4. You know, when I look and hear about these tyrannical, lying governments that steal the freedoms of their people and abuse their power, I thank God for living in our country. Here in America, we have a Democratic-Republican government and, with that government, the right to speak up and be heard. We do not have to fear what the government has the power to do because we ARE the government to a certain degree. In one of the videos, the human rights activist, journalists, and media were being "cracked down on" and silenced by the government. I think that what they are doing is so crazy and crooked. All the protesters want is to be heard and to receive the privileges similar to what we have in America. They want the tyranny to stop and Democracy to assume. They are absolutely right for wanting the crooked Mubarak regime to step down for its wrong deeds.

  5. I don't think there is anything wrong with what the people is doing because they have being treated extremely bad by the government and this was going to happen sooner or later. There shouldn't be that much violence but that's what happens when people get tired of being poor. I think the president is getting what he deserves.

  6. I saw this on the new the other day and i think this is way out of control. I think that the current president should just step down now. He should notice the terrible things that are happening around him and do what is best for the people if he truly cared about the people. I understand that he has some supporters, but more nonsupporters. I think he should step down now and bring an end to the madness.

  8. This is definately messed up. It is out of control and everyone just needs to calm thereself, and dont cause trouble. Nothing is fair in this world, and people just need to be who they were created to be and not try to be someone else.
