ok i typed all this once and im guessing it didn't save. Yeah lets get rid of the department of education so we can be like Libya as Mr. Robison said. This country has a major issue with what is its future this next generation of youth could hurt the country if the situations are not handled in the fight way. The people of this country should not be scared of walking out side of there house. However since they are afraid they are asking for help and guess who theyll want it from? Then here the U.S. goes involved in something that they should stay out of...again.
I just wonder why it is now that all the Middle Eastern countries are having a DOMINO effect when it comes to protesting. Maybe there is a sense of boredom, but why? Do I see people who are homeless in Washington D.C. doing anything? No. How about the jobless in America? They are just using Social Security money to support themselves and they sit bored with Youtube. That’s just stereotypical.
Putting all that ranting aside, what is going on? What I see is that Lybia is having a problem. OBVIOUSLY. There have been African Mercenaries (Just a rumor) that have been raging the streets, killing those who peek out the house, steeling those who talk to the outside. They are being run (Here comes another rumor) by the government to aid in the opposition of the protesting.
Maybe there was some good in the resigning of a couple top government officials. It could just be the thing that tells us that they understood the corruption that has been going on and that could be the proof that there is some corruption.
I may just be completely getting this wrong, but here’s another thought: Maybe the Lybia government didn’t want the United States to intervene and take over with a military stance. So, they hired their own workers (Rumored African Mercenaries) to stop the protesting in the country. Instead of risking their own military, why not use another more abundant type of militant that can be killed and used for cheap.
Barak Obama. I just feel that we have involved ourselves so much with foreign things. Where do we draw the line? Maybe we are getting the voice of the dragon now like the Bible says. See. We control others, something that a dragon does. People think they want our freedoms, but what we come out with is easy to take, but completely difficult to get rid of... completely against what they wanted.
You want freedom Egypt, Lybia, and other Middle Eastern countries? Well, do what America did by getting a President, making a Legislative branch run by the people, and a pure judicial branch. Don’t let us intervene. Don’t let us make you a military nation, something that we are afraid of on our own. Don’t you think that something isn’t right if we are doing for you what we don’t want for us?
If you are bored like people think you are. READ A LITTLE MORE! Just stop being stupid.
I read the article, and was left confused. I think the people in Libya are confused. Looking at the pictures, it looks like there are a lot of protests. Reading the article gave me the impression that everyone was hiding in their homes except for unidentified people shooting everyone who came out. That was one confusing thing for me. I couldn't find who was the problem, or who was creating the trouble. I feel like people say there is trouble or go out and create it just because everyone else is. It doesn't make sense to me. Everyone is blaming someone else, but no one knows who is to blame?
I just look at the things that are happening and feel so blessed to live here. Americans are so spoiled and take so many things for granted. I'm so glad that I don't have to live in Libya, constantly fearing for my life. I'm glad I can be confused right here in all the comforts of my home rather than be confused over there with the sound of gun shots in my head.
I went to gospress.com to research the reason behind the protests. "The demonstrations are done primarily by members of the majority Shia population, who say they are discriminated against by the Sunni monarchy."(www.gospress.com) Well, does this not sound like what was going on in Egypt: The people were sick and tired of the government being discriminant against them. This also sounds like the American Revolution--how we rebelled against the harsh treatment of the British government. And just as it was in the American Revolution and the protests in Egypt, there is gunfire on the protesters by soldiers. In one account, protester Fakhri Abdullah Rashed said he saw soldiers shooting at the site. “I saw people shot in various parts of the body. It was live ammunition,” he added.
I went to another website (http://motherjones.com)and found out some other terrible things for which the Libyans are not too thrilled. Despite all of Libya's oil revenues, which is the majority of the country's economy, children starve and contract horrible diseases. People are too afraid to even mention the name of Muammar Qaddafi, who is the dictator, or his son the prince, except by the code names "the leader" and "the principal;" they fear attracting suspicion. If they speak of their country's policies with foreigners they can receive up to three years in prison! Unemployment is at 30%, and those who have jobs mostly work just part-time! Basic foods such as sugar, rice, and flour are subsidized and then sold to the public at a fraction of the price.
When I look at the dictator-run countries, I thank God for being able to live America, where I know I am free. These people have to endure bloodshed within their own country in order to break the chaos. The governments are full of corrupt individuals who do not have hearts for their people. Thank You God for freedom in America!
I think the situtation that people are going through in Libya is sad. The regime of Libya's president is not helping anybody in that country and is just making people angry, desperate, and in a need of the US to get involved once again. The reason why the US is going to get involved is because a country like that does not know how to solve problems with out violence and someone has to help them. I hope that for the sake of humanity the protests stop and that the people in important positions can take better decisions.
This fighting is ridiculous and unnecessary. I had no idea anything was even going on in Libya. The Middle East is pure chaos right now. They are all acting crazy for no reason, in my opinion. This violence is stupid.
Ugh, why do they do this kind of stuff . It's stupid and not worth the trouble. I dont understand why they have to go all out because of what is happening. It's unnecessary and I think that they could do better. This is just sad.
